Heating & Hot Water
Power Flushing in North & West London
A power flush clears the sludge and debris that build up in heating systems, so your radiators heat evenly and your boiler does not have to work as hard.
Over time, rust and sludge build up inside radiators and pipes. Radiators develop cold spots, the boiler works harder, and parts like the pump and heat exchanger wear out faster. A power flush pushes water and cleaning chemicals through the system at high flow to clear it out.
We often power flush before fitting a new boiler, so it starts on a clean system, or when radiators are cold at the bottom. We finish with an inhibitor to protect the system, and can fit a magnetic filter to keep it clean.
What a power flush includes
- Checking the system and radiators before we start
- Connecting the flushing machine to the system
- Flushing each radiator in turn with cleaning chemicals
- Flushing through with clean water until it runs clear
- Adding inhibitor to protect the system
- Fitting a magnetic system filter if you want one
- Bleeding and balancing the radiators
Signs your system may need a power flush
- Radiators cold at the bottom
- Radiators taking a long time to heat up
- Dirty, dark water when you bleed a radiator
- A noisy boiler or pump
- You are having a new boiler fitted on an older system
What affects the price
The cost depends mostly on how many radiators your system has. We give you a fixed price after a quick look at your system.
“Andres and Juan were brilliant from start to finish. Helpful, clean, tidy, professional. I was worried that all 5* reviews was too good to be true but I can understand why now. We did a power flush of our system and everything was explained, done on time and the house is so much warmer now.”

Questions
Power Flushing: common questions
How long does a power flush take?
Usually most of a day for a typical home, depending on the number of radiators and how dirty the system is.
Will a power flush fix cold radiators?
If the cause is sludge, which is the most common cause of radiators being cold at the bottom, then yes. If the problem is air, a valve or the pump, we will tell you.
Do I need a power flush with a new boiler?
It is good practice to clean the system when fitting a new boiler, so debris from the old system does not damage the new one. We recommend the right level of cleaning for your system.
